Kiteboarding the outer banks of North Carolina has been a dream of mine for a while. I grew up in North Carolina and the outer banks were famous for kiteboarding. The steady winds that drew the Wright brothers to launch their first plane have made the area a hub for kiteboarding. I learned the sport with my dad and it was quite the learning process. After being dragged through the sand, popping a kite, and drinking enough water to interrupt the Pamlico sound’s tidal cycle. I was able to standup and glide across the water. The feeling of being puled across the water and into the air by the wind is something that I will never forget.
